Welcome ...

Bluebell Bungalow started as all good ideas do – over a bottle of wine. The minute Sunday lunch was over Jean and her son-in-law, Paul, were out with a tape measure seeing how feasible it was to fit a bungalow in the available space in the back garden.

The driving force behind the decision to build Bluebell Bungalow was to create a home that would give Bill, who is severely disabled and confined to a wheelchair, a better quality of life by improving his ability to be independent and also a garden that Jean could manage and they could both enjoy.. She loves gardening but the garden of the current bungalow was just too much work and Bill can’t get into it due to the steps everywhere.

As with most of the challenges of this build, the first port of call was Ebay to try and track down a theodolite to survey the land – the second was a book on how to use it!

It has been a long journey with many physical and emotional challenges but this is our story…

There is so much we want to include on this site but as you may imagine, we have been short of free time. Once the build is complete, we will continue to add content and photos so please visit again!
